Down under the dark moor, is a nest of
badgers. Friends mostly, rather than family. Being the nocturnal creatures that
they are, night time is their right time. Tonight was such a night that these
badgers would come out all except one.
Argyle couldn’t
help but fret many nights; such a night was tonight, as the
other badgers waited for him outside of the
nest impatiently. Argyle usually thought he was laudable for a mysterious
reason, he simply wanted encouragement and praise from others to get himself outside. Some
nights the badgers had done so, other nights they had left him behind; such a
night was tonight, despite Argyle’s dismay.
Argyle snuck
quietly into the corner of the badger nest, hoping it would
attract some one’s attention. To Argyle’s
stubborn surprise nobody came. This would not do at all Argyle thought, as he
found himself an inviolable badger that would not let any other badger win. The
other badgers might think that Argyle, would give in, but he would not, he
usually stayed put in the corner of the nest when usually someone would bring
him food anyway. Food Argyle thought, he
could really do with some of that. Yet the other Badgers haven’t been gone for
a while, it might be a long time waiting in hunger. Maybe there’s a very small
snack just outside the nest that he could be quick enough to catch outside and
hide back inside without the others ever knowing. It was a plan that was going
to be put into action tonight.
Argyle steps outside of the nest, the night
was beautifully dark. Argyle was reminded how pleasant and adventurous the
night was. This night was also very empty and quite; Argyle had trouble
spotting anything he could eat. He was starting to get really hungry now so he
had extricate himself from the comfort of the nest and venture further for
food, hopefully not getting lost.
Higher on top
the moor Argyle went, having no luck with food. On top of
the moor, he could see all of the land and
the night sky, which briefly took his mind of his hunger. Until his stomach
churned and he had to keep going. Argyle trotted down the opposite side of the
moor to the side he came up on, and traveled further for the search of food.
